Mr. Laurance Narbut is the Chief Investment Officer for Acceleration Resources LLC, a firm making principal investments in the energy sector. Acceleration Resources’ investments take the form of joint ventures, equity and credit, and target robust rates of return coupled with significant downside risk mitigation. The firm leverages the broad skills of its seasoned technical team who bring experience from EOG Resources, Southwestern Energy, Chesapeake, Conoco and Shell, and its advisory board, which is comprised of highly accomplished executives in the energy and financial industries.
From 2004 until 2013, Mr. Narbut was a portfolio manager at Passport Capital, LLC, where Mr. Narbut co-managed the investment management process for the energy sector, focused on exploration and production companies. Mr. Narbut was a Principal at Richmond Financial LLC, from 2001 to 2003, specializing in public and private equity and before that, served as an Associate at Sun Capital Partners from 1998 to 2000. Prior to this, Mr. Narbut was a Summer Associate at Parthenon Group in 1997 and an Investment Banking Analyst and Summer Analyst at Credit Suisse First Boston, from 1993 to 1996. Mr. Narbut received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1998 and in 1994 he earned a B.S. in Economics, Cum Laude, from The Wharton School and a B.A. in Regional Science from the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Narbut is a past president of the Phillips Exeter Academy Alumni Association of Northern California, and serves as a senior member of the Guardsmen whose mission is to make life-changing difference in the lives of at-risk youth.
