Matthew McCarthy is currently Vice President of Nottingham Spirk, a single-family office and innovation-consulting firm based in Cleveland that was recently featured in the New York Times. He focuses his efforts on widening out Nottingham Spirk’s relationships with private equity and venture capital funds along with performing fund due diligence. He takes the lead in business development in direct investments, deal sourcing, structuring, and syndicating.
Matthew is a Partner in the NS Growth Fund. The NS Growth Fund is a 100m Venture Capital Fund investing in disruptive technology, medical devices, and consumer products. Matthew’s role covers many areas from fund raising, investment selection, board participation, and over all Fund Management.
Mr. McCarthy is also presently involved in the Akron ARCHAngels Volunteer Deal Flow Committee. ARCHAngel (Akron Regional Change Angel) non-profit network is a regional forum for introducing investors to market-driven, technology-based investment opportunities within Northeast Ohio. Matthew is also the Director of The Medical Device Angels, which is an independent group of investors looking for medical device technology or companies not ready for Venture Capital. He currently oversees the Group and coordinates transactions from start to finish.
