Anil Kapuria, as the founder of Enabler Today, he has defined, invested, and managed the development and deployment of FarmIT.us, a social enterprise that infuses farm data analytics technology It works with farm cooperatives, and family farmer in $750 million family farm business value chain in rural America to improve business performance and maximize profits for rural family farmers.
Born in Kanpur, Kapuria was always encouraged by his parents to dream beyond his lower middle class background. Being good at mathematics naturally gravitated him towards Delhi College of Engineering the most happening engineering college of 60s in India. He did his MS in Computer Science from University of Birmingham in 1971- 72 and much later business management at Harvard Business School.
During his stint as a Software Engineer with Tandem Computers, one of the hottest start-ups of its time, which later merged into Hewlett Packard, the entrepreneurship bug caught him and led to the establishment of Silicon Valley Technology India Limited, which he was able to develop as India’s largest electronic manufacturing organization that had arisen to export 50% of all computer hardware exports.
For this Anil Kapuria, received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the Federation of Indian Association, Northern California and also the Number One in Export Performance of Electronic Manufactured ProducDuring his stint as a Software Engineer with Tandem Computers, one of the hottest start-ups of its time, which later merged into Hewlett Packard, the entrepreneurship bug caught him and led to the establishment of Silicon Valley Technology India Limited, which he ts from India conferred by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India.
For 19 years, he was the CEO of Namaami, LLC & Silicon Valley Technology from 1990 to 2009 in San Jose, California. With over four decades of working and leading some of the smartest organizations Anil Kapuria as a pro bono volunteer and advisor has been guiding numerous dynamic social enterprises and organizations such as India School Fund, Juma Ventures, GLOW Foundation, YesWeCode etc.
