Founding Director of the Computational Medicine Center, Jefferson

Isidore Rigoutsos, PhD, is the founding Director of the Computational Medicine Center in the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, and a member of the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center. He is a Professor in the Department of Pathology, Anatomy and Cell Biology, and has joint appointments in the Department of Cancer Biolo- gy and the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Dr. Rigoutsos has more than 30 years of Computer Science experience and 25 years of experience in Computational Molecular Biology. He has authored/co-authored more than 120 peer-reviewed articles in two fields (Computer Science, Biology/Medicine), several of them in high-impact factor journals (PNAS, Nature Methods, Genome Res, Cell, Nature, etc.). He has directly trained or currently training 15 PhD students and 11 Post-doctoral Fellows, participated or currently participating in the Committee of 7 more PhD students, and taught dozens of graduate-level courses in Computational Biology and post-transcriptional regula- tion.
